How to ensure overall safety at work when working At Height?

Date: 25 Dec, 2017

The key aspects to be considered for a solution are:

  • While handling Concrete, Transit Mixer has to be washed to allow proper mixing
  • This is a pre-delivery ritual that must be maintained for quality outputs
  • Water intensive and time consuming process leading to wastages
  • Additionally a person must climb in to manually clean via the TM access ladder posing a potential falling hazard

The solutions derived for above pain points while ensuring safety at all times:

Working at height (WAH) is the construction industry’s primary cause of death and major injuries in the workplace. It specifies any place where, without precautions, a person could fall a distance causing personal injury. Measures need to be taken to prevent falls when working at height is unavoidable.

To ensure that the above issue is handled in the best possible way, we have to do as much work as possible from the ground. Hence more focus has been placed on extending tools instead of a ladder, bringing device to ground level before repairing it and avoiding fragile surfaces. Moreover, this has also led to ensuring reduction in water consumption.

Health and safety is one of the primary areas where Nuvoco lays emphasis in every area of work. This is keeping in line with our values towards shaping a safer, healthier and sustainable future. To know more about our values click here:
